This project involved significant additions and the complete redesign of an existing residence that includes the construction of a new pool and terrace areas.
The clients brief was extensive and was answered by a design that occupied three levels.
The main living areas and entry are on the upper level which is capped by a shallow curved copper clad roof a casual, elegant solution that unifies the whole of the spaces on this level.
The street elevation stresses low horizontal, proportions featuring timber and metal screens, sandstone cladding and painted panels. It includes an entry courtyard , landscaping and light wells to allow northern light into the building.
The south elevation includes crisply detailed steel and glass awnings and handrails. There are extensive glazed areas to take advantage of harbour views and the new pool areas.
After a hard won approval from Council sadly the project did not proceed to construction.
