West Street, Balgowlah

The site is located on the high side of west street, facing east  with views over Manly and the harbour.

This single residence planned over three levels over an excavated basement garage level.

All of the levels are accessed by a single lift.

There is a suspended pool and terrace over the garage level that also includes a rumpus room and bathroom.

Living, Dining and Kitchen areas are located on the second level that also has level access to the rear garden area.

The third level contains the bedroom areas.

Site works maintained an existing large rock outcrop on the south side of the street frontage. This reduced excavation and grounded the buildings appearance . Driveway access and pedestrian access run on the north of this excavated face and landscaped area.

The building from the street has a layered appearance with a strong asymmetrical metal roof form set in a heavily landscaped setting.
